I am William D. (Bill) Boggs. Along with my wife Mary and grandson
William, we moved to our retirement home in Leander, in 2007.
am a third-generation Texan with family roots in the San Antonio area.
I graduated from Natalia High School. I was Salutatorian of my
graduating class. Shortly thereafter, I joined the U. S. Army and
served four years in the Army Security Agency. I held a Top
Secret/Crypto Security Clearance in a position of trust. Later in life,
while working for Central Power and Light, I attended night school and
graduated from Texas A&M, Corpus Christi, with a BBA in
was employed by Central Power and Light Company, Corpus Christi, for
ten years. My job assignments were primarily customer facing service,
reading meters, quality control in customer billing, to include bad
debt collection. We served three hundred and fifty thousand customers.
I learned the critical value of excellent customer service, especially
during times of financial stress that members face.
over thirty years I worked for and then retired from Lyondell-Basell
Petrochemical Company. We produced Ethylene which is used in the
production of plastic. I operated a natural gas fired cogeneration
unit, on site, a distributed generation asset, that generated all plant
load requirements and then fed all excess power back to CP&L.
best work experience that I have had was being on the Board of PEC. I
have long been a believer in the coop model. I was a member of Medina
Valley Coop, Nueces Electric Coop, and now PEC coop. I committed myself
to intense training, I completed twenty-seven NRECA Director Education
Classes. This was to help me become aware of issues that would come up
while I was on the Board. I chaired a committee to rewrite the By-Laws
as well as the Directors Code of Conduct and up date five polices.
