Candidate Questionnaire Responses

1)  What makes PEC’s mission meaningful to you, and what interest you about serving on the PEC Board of Directors?

The most important part about PEC’s mission is the cooperative aspect, meaning the involvement and participation of the members. That is the specific reason that I am running; I believe that as a member there should be changes for the better and it is my duty to push for these changes by participating in the process. This also is the reason for my interest in serving on the board at PEC; I have a unique opportunity to influence change that actually can make people’s lives and experiences better, or at least less stressful.

2) What education, skills strength, or life experiences do you have that would benefit PEC?

My career has been spent in a sector where reliability is paramount and there must be a comprehensive and accountable reliability program in place to ensure system performance. These same principles can and should be applied to the PEC operational model due to the criticality of what they provide to people. I am a certified Project Management Professional as well, so I also understand how to execute complex principles. I firmly believe that I can add operational value to improve system reliability and performance to PEC. I have spent days in the dark as a PEC member and that is a life experience that I don’t think other people need to go through if we can prevent it through systematic improvement.

3) What other boards or committees have you served on or leadership positions have you held in the past?

I have served for several different American Petroleum Institute committees regarding safety, integrity, and measurement. I also have served on the Gas Processor Association committees regarding hydrocarbon quality standards. I have spent my career in operational leadership and currently work as Vice President of Operations for a large multi-state midstream company.

4) Are you familiar with the cooperative business model?

Yes. The coop model is setup in the interest of the member. It’s a democratic member- controlled model that non-profit such and meant to keep prices affordable by only charging the cost-of-service with any excess going into improvements of the system.

5) How would you approach working with your fellow PEC Board of Directors to achieve collaboration and consensus?

The approach is simple in that the answer is whatever benefits the members most. Each board member will have unique experience that can lead to a multitude of different options for reaching that solution; therefore, open discussion and consideration of all methods for achieving the answer is crucial.
