Director-Candidate Biographies
District 2

Lewis Borgfeld
Lewis
Borgfeld was first appointed as an Advisory Director for District 2 in
1973, elected to the Board in 1974, and served as Board President from
1986 to 2022. Borgfeld earned a Director Gold credential from NRECA. He
is a graduate of Louisiana State University, served in the U.S.
military, enjoyed a career in banking, and was involved in civic
leadership and economic development activities. He currently serves as
an advisory director on the Schertz Bank & Trust board and is a
member of Post 8315 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Schertz. His
wife, Lolly, is a longtime educator and past president of the SCUCISD
Education Foundation.
District 5

Morris Harvey
Morris
Harvey has served the members of District 5 since 2011. In 2022, he was
elected as Secretary/Treasurer. He graduated from Nixon High School and
from Texas A&I University in Kingsville with a degree in
agriculture education. A lifelong rancher, Harvey is also the owner and
manager of Mustang Realty in Nixon, and is a broker, real estate
professional inspector, and licensed appraiser. He has served his
community as a member of the Nixon Hospital Board, Nixon Chamber of
Commerce, and as past director of the Feather Fest. He is also a member
of First Baptist Church of Nixon.
District 8

Mark Roberts
Mark
Roberts has represented District 8 on the GVEC Board since November
2009. He graduated from Samuel Clemens High School, earned degrees in
applied science and automotive management, and is a Gold Credentialed
Cooperative Director through NRECA. A business owner and entrepreneur,
Mark has invested in several companies, including Total True Automotive
and Roberts Properties, Inc., with a focus on local growth and strong
teams. He also serves on the Schertz Bank & Trust Board and
supports regional economic development in the Schertz and Cibolo area.
Mark and his wife, Lori, have two grown children and have been active
members at Crosspoint Church for more than 20 years.
