Alice
Price, a proud seventh-generation Texan, has devoted her life to
serving her family, her community, and the state of Texas. Born and
raised in Burnet County, Alice grew up on her family’s ranch, which
dates back to approximately 1907. Her rural upbringing gave her a deep
appreciation for country life and a firsthand understanding of how
critical electricity is to supporting agricultural operations and the
daily needs of Texans.
Alice
attended Burnet schools all her life, before pursuing higher education
at the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a degree in
History in 1989. She then followed her passion for learning, completing
her law degree in 1992. Over the past 30 years, Alice has built a
distinguished legal career marked by her dedication to public service.
She spent nearly a decade with the Special Prosecution Unit, a task
force established in 1985 through a special grant from the Governor’s
office to combat violent crime in Texas prisons. In this role, Alice
traveled to numerous Texas counties, handling hundreds of cases
involving victims of violent crimes that occur within the Texas
Department of Criminal Justice. Her work demonstrated an unwavering
commitment to justice and public safety. Most recently, she has served
as an Assistant District Attorney specializing in Asset and Bond
Forfeiture Law for the 424th/33rd District Attorney’s Office, which
serves Burnet, Llano, San Saba, and Blanco counties.
In
addition to her professional endeavors, Alice has been an active
community member, contributing her time to organizations such as The
Clear Lake Library Board, The American Cancer Society (CL chapter),
Clear Lake Little League Baseball, Central Texas Youth Football League,
The Burnet Youth Football League, the Parent-Teacher Association, and
the Lions Club of Burnet, Texas.
For
the last three years, Alice has had the honor to serve as a
Commissioner of the ESD #8 in Burnet, newly named; Northeast Burnet
County Fire and Rescue. This role has provided her with valuable
experience in budgeting, strategic planning, and overseeing policies
and compliance regulations. Her dedication in this position has further
reinforced her commitment to supporting her community and ensuring its
safety and preparedness.
Alice
and her husband, Jeff, reside on the family ranch, where they continue
the family tradition of raising cattle, a legacy that began in the
